  • We like the sound of the Ceilidh Band and DJ Option, How does it work?
So, every wedding we play at is different, with brides and grooms all having different tastes and idea's of how they can see their night going... However, the Majority of the time, Wedding's work great like this, but please bear in mind this is only a ROUGH guide - 7:30 - First Dance or Dances 7:45 - Ceilidh Starts 9pm - Break for interval or buffet 10pm - DJ set 11:15pm - Back to the Ceilidh for the Big Finish inc Orcadian Strip the Willow, Loch Lomond or any other Requested Dances or Songs. Midnight - End As we have done this for year's we are very experienced in knowing what to play and when to play it, so we would normally like to play the night by ear, and keep going with what ever is keeping people on the dance floor...
  • How long does it take you to set up?
This depends on the load in, i.e if there's a long carry from the van to the stage etc. We will always, where possible speak to the venue beforehand to ensure everything goes smoothly and you, the happy couple can concentrate on having an amazing day.
  • Could you play our first dance song live?
If you request us to play your first dance live, then we will do our very very best to learn it for you. However, if it's not possible to learn we will let you know in plenty time and arrange an MP3.
  • In regard's to playing for our big day, is there anything you need from us?
We are very easy to deal with, s where possible we will deal with the venue regarding power sockets, parking spaces etc etc so you don't have to. If it isn't possible to speak to the venue, then we will make sure everything is well organised with yourselves in plenty time before the big day.
  • Can we come and see you play before we book you?
The short answer is, Yes, No Problem. However, as the majority of our gigs are weddings and private functions, leave it with us and we will speak to the relevant parties, just to make sure.
  • Do you travel to the West Coast Islands?
Yeah, of course we have played at functions and events all over the west coast of Scotland for years. Generally because of ferrys and travel etc we would tend to find a gig the night before your wedding and maybe the night after your wedding so we are not totally in a mad rush to get to your venue, just in case of hold ups or ferry cancelations etc etc.
  • If you are playing at our island wedding, do we need to supply you with accomodation?
Yeah, generally when we are booked but someone to play for their event, then usually it would be you guys to sort some accomidation, however, that will all be discussed in plenty time.
  • Do you have a list of songs you sing live? also, would you learn some of our requests?
yea, here is a link to our sample set list of Songs and Dances. Learning songs to sing live is generally not a problem unless we have to maybe book a studio space in order to learn the songs live as a band. Get in touch as soon as you know which songs and we can take it from there, generally it's nae bother though 😁
  • Can we send you a list of songs we want played for the DJ part.
That is no problem at all.
  • Some of our guests have never danced or been to a Ceilidh before, can you teach them?
We always have an experienced dance caller with us for weddings either to refresh peoples memories of the dance steps or to teach you for the very first time.
